Small Business Experts

Over the last 12 years we have worked alongside a large number of clients who have small business at heart. They have trusted The Small Business Company to deliver and deploy a range of content and IT solutions, from their websites, direct to the small business owner. The following case studies showcase our expertise better than we can describe. Have a look.

Banks

We have developed specific expertise by helping six banks across four countries create small business friendly content on their business banking websites. Banks have high security and process requirements; they trust us, so can you. The following is a list of our bank projects.

  • ANZ Australia. The SB Hub is a separate ANZ-owned site for Australian small business owners. We created all of the content on this site; online training action plans, courses, articles, webinars, blogs, business tools and applications.
  • BNZ New Zealand. Part of the main BNZ website, all of the business content in the Small Business Centre is provided by TSBC.
  • HSBC UK. This Knowledge Centre provides a range of online training modules, including the business planning tool, all licensed from TSBC.
  • National Bank New Zealand. We designed and built this business portal site for the NBNZ, and currently host and maintain the site.
  • Lloyds UK. A benchmarking project to assist Lloyds in deploying their ‘Force for Good’ campaign.
  • Ulster Bank Ireland. A series of online training products to help Irish businesses improve their management skills.

Government and Enterprise Development

All countries acknowledge that small businesses drive economies, and governments are always looking for ways to support economic growth. More and more government departments are offering small business online training as they look to reduce their costs but increase delivery.

  • SCORE. Funded by the Small Business Administration in the USA, SCORE is the free coaching and mentoring service. Our training is offered from this site for over 1,000 Enterprise Centres across the US.
  • UK Intellectual Property Office. In partnership with two local providers, TSBC designed and managed the UK IPO’s IP Health Check tool.
  • Ministry of Economic Development. In New Zealand, we project manage the delivery of the government's business portal www.business.govt.nz.
  • New Zealand Trade and Enterprise. The online business plan Planning for Success uses Line NT for its delivery platform.
  • NZ Tourism Industry Association. Offers 10 online modules from Line NT to assist tourism operators in building their businesses. Two modules are free to access, the other eight require TIA membership.
  • NZ Inland Revenue. TSBC developed IR’s Tool For Business, an interactive tool helping businesses navigate the complexities of tax (TSBC also offered an HTML compliant version).
  • Irish County Enterprise Boards. Eleven of these economic development centres offer our training free to their local small businesses. As an example, see the Louth County Enterprise Board online training.

Corporate

Large corporate businesses often overlook their small business customers, or find it is too expensive to allocate business managers for small accounts. Online training is way to provide instant help and support while educating them about products and services.

  • Intuit. All of the ‘tools for success’ on the Intuit Small Business Britain site are provided by TSBC.
  • Royal Mail. Offer a range of web seminars that use Line NT and our content to educate small businesses on the benefits of direct mail.
  • Microsoft. From 2004-2008 TSBC delivered Microsoft’s Small Business Plus workshop series in nine different countries.
  • MYOB. We built the Marketing Tactics tool for MYOB New Zealand. This is provided as a resource for their clients to download. (For enquiries about this product please contact us )
